We have just received a beautiful selection of potted camellias. These are the nicest camellias that I’ve seen in the last 5 years. They come in several varieties and are in bud and bloom right now. We will be offering these camellias at a 25% discount while supplies last. They are not to be missed.

Did you forget to pick up your Santa pictures? I know it can get hectic around the Holidays!

The store will open again on Feb 11th at 9 am. We never throw out Santa pictures so you are welcome to come anytime after that to pick them up.

Coneflower Crazy!!!

Being that our plant of the month this month is the cone flower. I went out and ordered a selection of exciting new echinaceas. They range in colour from a deep coral red to a light, clean pink. Some are fragrant and some are doubles. Hot lava is a choice example that has fragrant blooms that emerge vermilion then fade to pink -orange. We have 10 or so varieties in stock right now that are all in full bloom.

Irises Not Blooming?

This is a common problem for bearded irises because when people plant them they do it too deep. The rhizome (their root) actually needs to be exposed in order to bloom. When planting irses choose a sunny dry spot and keep the top half of the rhizome exposed! With so many colors to choose from the only problem you should have is how many to buy.

Last week I visited a nursery out in the valley that was full of the most amazing plant material. I wandered through aisles for hours looking for the unique and unusual; which, at this nursery, was everywhere. Dwarf ginkos, miniature agave, black petunias and a weeping blue Sequoia sempervirens were some of the highlights… all of which I hope to get into our store this spring, and make available to you!
