The lakes, the trails, the animals, the campfire, the burnt hotdogs… it’s all pretty magical. If you’re anything like me, you enjoy looking at our native flora while out in the wild. I’m always impressed [...]

    Monday, April 11th, 2011

I just bought the cutest little flowers today for the store! Sanguinaria canadensis f.multiplex! They prefer partially shaded woodland conditions. The double white bloom show out in the spring. The flowers of Sanguinaria canadensis f. multiplex last longer than those of the single-flowered bloodroot, Sanguinaria canadensis. Get them while they are HOT!

    Silver lining

    Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

So I was driving home from my grandmothers house the other day, and it was a grey, raining, gloomy day. But do you know what stood out to me? All the world coming to life. The lime green of the willows and bright red of the maples were all starting to leaf out! The Forsythias, witch hazels, daffodils and [...]

    Something sweet this way comes…

    Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Hyacinths, Sarcococca (sweet box) and my personal favorite Skimmia. Skimmia is a compact, evergreen, bushy shrub with dark green foliage that provides an excellent background for the showy flowers and berries. Part sun to full shade. Skimmia japonica varieties need a male pollinator with a [...]
