Big Pots

Potter’s is gaining quite the reputation as the spot to go for big pots. We bring in a lot of pottery from Asia and there’s usually some really nice large pots in those shipping containers. There’s a number of styles and colours to choose from but be forewarned… big pots are HEAVY! That definitely is something to consider when placing the pot in the yard. Is it going to need to be moved again? Is it going on a deck with weight issues? Big pots are spectacular and can be real focal points in the garden… but make sure you pick the right spot. Check out our 152nd store first when you’re looking for big pots… they usually stock plenty!

Plastic Pots

All our Potter’s locations have a good selection of plastic pots. From the good ole cheapies to the more expensive “pottery-looking” pots, there’s something there for everybody. One of the new varieties this year is the recycled wood-glass-plastic pots. They’re lightweight but VERY ornamental… they have nice thick walls for sturdiness and cool floral patterns on the outside. These have been popular this year and I can’t wait to see what new introductions in plastic pottery come out for next season!

Vietnamese Pottery

Out of the vast selection of pots that Potter’s carries, I think it’s the Vietnamese that’s the most popular among our customers… although it is feared by our employees. Where does this love/ hate relationship come from? People love it for the fact that’s it unbelievably thick and well made… employees fear it for the same reason! Vietnamese pottery tends to use a lot of clay and the walls are very thick. This creates amazingly sturdy pots… it also creates HEAVY pots. And ask any employee who’s had to lug these Vietnamese sets around the nursery, they have some serious weight to them! But all kidding aside, we love to sell Vietnamese pots because the quality is so high and our customers enjoy browsing the styles and colours. Come have a look in the pottery section next time you’re in a Potter’s store and ask an employee where the Vietnamese pottery is… I’m sure he’ll wince and point you in the right direction!

Boy, this new Malaysian pottery we got in is quite the hot item! Lots of colours and styles and it’s really well made… and best of all, it’s priced VERY well! It’s totally outdoor hardy and looks great in the outdoor landscape. I think you’ll see all the Potter’s stores with more and more Malaysian pottery in years to come.. we’re that happy with the product. And more importantly, the customers love it too. If you’re in one of the Potter’s stores, ask to see the selection of Malaysian pottery… I think you’ll be impressed both by quality and price!
