Every day I stroll through my container garden, to see what’s newly emerging, blooming, or to search for pests. Yesterday I saw APHIDS!! Argh. Two seconds after my initial frustration, I spotted a Ladybug. Yeah! 3 points for the red team. Go Ladies Go!

I had purchased a bag of Ladybugs two Summers ago and they have overwintered in my garden. I waited extra long this Spring to do my clean up because they hunker down in the debris in my containers for the winter and I didn’t want to disturb them. I’ve accidentally unearthed them a couple of times. Whoops. But I think I am forgiven.

If you are interested in getting some Ladybugs for your own garden, we sell them in bags of 250. They munch on Aphids of course, but they also like to eat Soft Scale, Whitefly Pupa, Thrips, and Spidermite. 1 bag covers 10 medium plants or up to 3 trees.

Yes the rumors are true… we finally have Westcoast seeds in our stores now! To help you with all your seed questions they have a great website that is easy to use! www.westcoastseeds.com . They have it broken down into flowers, vegtables, and herbs then further again with season&zone, timing, starting and growing in specific items! Take a look I have found it VERY helpful!

On my day off last week I went down to potters 192 which is the Christmas Store and I was amazed at what I found. The displays were amazing and I may have even walked out of there with a few bags of goodies! A must see in my books!

Terracotta Man @ Potter’s 72!

Look up in the sky.. it’s a blurb.. it’s a plate… no it’s TERRACOTTA MAN!!! Come see the magnificent Terracotta Man at Potter’s 72nd and bask in his glory… well, maybe he’s not all that glorious or magnificent but Miss Jessie T loves him all the same. And the employees have taken a real shine to our very own Terracotta Man. I saw Dan W have lunch with him the other day, so it’s nice to see TM fitting in with the rest of the employees. Three jeers for Terracotta Man!

Starfrit at Potters

Come in and check out our Starfrit table at Ocean Park. We have peelers, pepper mills, food choppers, mini egg pans and griddles, measuring spoons and much more. The thing I have to have is the mini vacuum table cleaner. It is a mini mouse vacuum for the table to pick up all those crumbs after a messy eater! So cute!
