This year we are carrying many new products… one being Beats Peat. This product is 100% all natural premuim coconut coir and is here to replace peat moss. It helps improve soil areation and drainage, soaks up water faster than peat. The only difference is that the coconut coir is pH neutral which means that it does not add any acidity to the soil and should not be added for that purpose. It is a much better choice in my opinion as it does not take any peat away from the world’s peat bogs. This product is made from coconut coir which is a waste product anyways. Everyone wins!

Did you know that the 152nd Store and 72nd Store carry bulk aggregate materials? You probably already knew that but for those who don’t, we carry top soil, bark mulch, sand, and different types of rock from pea gravel to drain rock. You can buy it by the bag and bag it yourself or you can purchase a Bobcat scoop-full (if you have a truck or trailer). Whatever the job the that you’re working on at home, we probably have the bulk material that will help get the job done.

People often ask me what the best potting soil is and I tell them it usually doesn’t matter as long as you’re not using straight top soil for your pots. Why no top soil? Because it’s too heavy for pots and doesn’t allow the roots of the plants to branch out like a lighter potting soil does. At Potter’s we have numerous potting soils but our two most popular are our Potter’s-brand soil and our big bales of soil called The Answer. We use both of these soils for our planters and containers here and the results have always been excellent.

It took me by surprise that these products would catch on so quickly. Natures Gold products are made of natural recycled compost products right here in BC. The potting soil is our best seller this year. I’ve used it myself this year and my containers are off to a great start. The lawn and garden fertilizer is one I just put on the beds last night, what a great workable product. Its so fine it lays down even across the surface of the soil and lawn, it looks great to as it has a dark almost black color, and its highly nutritional for the garden. Check it out at …
