Toad lilies (Tricyrtis sp. ) are one of the most under-used and under-appreciated perennials in the shade garden. In late August the toad lily starts to show off its orchid-like bloom. This continues well into September and even into October. Easily adapting to shady areas, the toad lily will also perform in sunny locales. Toad lilies are meant to be specimens and are sure to impress.
